Mountain Biking

We have more than two hundred kilometres of gravel roads, suitable for easy mountain biking, and some terrain that requires fitness and good technical skill. Contact Jenny for these Packages.

Game Drives

Game Drives on adjoining private game reserve where more than 2000 head of antelope roam. (R850 for 90 minutes, R1400 for up to 4 hours). See list of antelope on the farm, including a few rare species. We have a small herd of American Bison which can almost be guaranteed to be seen in the longer game drive.

Art

Pack your paints and lose yourself in the beauty of the Karoo landscapes. Bring along your Photography equipment…the Karoo light will enthrall you. Wonderful opportunities to photograph vegetation, sunrises, sunsets, macrophotography, and of course the animals you come across.

Play Games

Board games, Scrabble, Chess, Backgammon, card games, puzzles offer plenty of ‘old fashioned’ family time together. We are also able to host Duplicate Bridge groups / tournaments of 8 individuals.

Veld Picnic

Often our guests’ favourite experience on the farm. Karoo delicacies beautifully packed, mostly produced on the farm, homemade ginger beer; gin and tonic, wine or a cold beer. Sitting out in the veld, taking in the vast expanse of vegetation fill’s one’s soul. Food also taste much better when eaten outside than inside! Charged at R450 per picnic basket which can feed 2-4 people (family with children U11 years).

Guided Walks

Guided 40 minute amble up to Kudu Rock, with a chance to spot our rare Arabian Oryx; might even be lucky to see Kudu coming to the waterhole in the evening. Spectacular view across the veld. Great Sundowners spot (no charge).

Hiking

Extensive hiking opportunities on the 15 000 hectare farm. Easy walking...more strenuous hikes...very hectic hikes into Tronkkloof Gorge which will require a degree of fitness. Backup support always available.

Relax

Relaxing hours of “Stoepsit”. An important part of a luxurious farm stay are the hours spent on the farmstead Stoep, watching sunrise with a coffee in hand, taking in the vast expanse, the quietness, farm sounds, enjoying a glass of wine, or watching the evening skies. Expose yourself to this magical pastime.

Reading

Immerse yourself in reading; we have a collectors' library of books on the Boer War, as well as many interesting books on the Karoo. Discover these topics while relaxing on the "stoep"...

Stargazing

The Milky Way can be seen in the Karoo like few other places in South Africa, possibly on earth. Use an App to identify stars as they appear.

Self drive 4x4

Self Drive opportunities along all the roads that have been digitalised. A four wheel drive vehicle will definitely be needed, as well as experienced driving on some of the roads.

Bake bread

A bread baking demonstration will give you a chance to try your hand at kneading; learn the Karoo art of making oven koekies, loaves, roosterkoek, vetkoek.

Clay pigeon shooting

We have 4 clay stations…always a lot of fun. Ammunition and clays will be charged. We have farm rifles that can be hired.

Boules

The Boules court in front of the farmstead never fails to enthrall. Try your hand at this on lazy afternoons.

Working remotely

Wifi access and tranquil surroundings provide great opportunity to work from here. There are many private and quiet spaces as well as meeting rooms.
